ABOUT ME

I’m Heather—the one behind the lens and the heart of this little photography business.

My love for capturing life began as a young girl, always with a camera in my hands. In college, I discovered a passion for travel, and 15 years ago, the mountains of Colorado called me home. After meeting my husband, who also shares a love for adventure, we took every chance we could to explore the world, always with my camera in hand. Everything changed in the most wonderful way in 2017, when I became a mom to my daughter, Harper, and two years later, my son, William. Suddenly, photography took on a whole new meaning. The days were fleeting, my kids were growing so fast, and I wanted to remember everything.

I finally purchased a professional camera and dove headfirst into learning—I invested in online education from incredible photographers, workshops, and almost daily practice with my two little subjects. Over time, I realized that capturing my own family’s story was only the beginning. What I truly loved was preserving the real, joyful, messy, beautiful moments of other families, too. That’s how Heather Heidke Photography was born, and since then, I’ve had the joy of meeting incredible clients, photographing in beautiful locations, and documenting the stories that matter most.
